Summary/Abstract: By the campaigns undertaked in 1595 and 1600 in Moldavia and Walachia, the grand chancellor of the Crown (kanclerz wielki Korony) and commander-in chief (hetman wielki) Jan Zamoyski, tried to bring them under Polish-Lithuanian protection. Zamoyski' s client and also polish-lituanian great messenger to Istanbul (1598), in his speech delivered at Wiśnic in 1602 had proposed to divide Moldavia and Walachia “between polish nobles”. This proposal could be interpretated as an expression of some of the Zamoyski's clients to obtain material compensations in those principalities (for loosing acces to the main officies of the Crown).
