ARVANITS IN THE GREEK REVOLUTION OF 1821

Summary/Abstract: So, contribution of Arvanitas was great, since the time when efforts of establishment of Greek nation has started and until other nationalities inhabiting Greek soil raised to request, with weapons, national liberation. Greek’s Arberor’s invaluable assistance was a natu-ral and unhurried outcome of the ripe objective and subjective condi-tions. Revolution of 1821, which was the cause of establishment of New Greek State, can not be comprehended without Arvanits. Appro-ximately 90% of heroes24 in this revolution would be Arvanitas. The struggle of Arvanitas’ would be unprecedented for the bene-fit of achieving the independence. In an Antique document of 1899, it is claimed that in the war of the year 1899 for the independence, fought resolutely also Greek Arbëreshs, and with their help the Greece was liberated.
