Summary/Abstract: The second edition of International Biennale of Contemporary Art, organized in Prague in 2005 was entitled “From a Theme to its Realization”. The promotors’ intention was pointing to a need to concentrate on changes in the postmodern culture and finding distance from these culture actions, which set bounds to art. Those delimiting actions result not only from ideological and esthetical standards pressure, or from socio-economical political reasons, but also they are effects of global situation of contemporary culture and domination of its aggressive forms, like pop-culture and media. Neverthless, the Prague second Biennale Dissapoints and not with its slogans and program, but rather with lack of concequence between ambitions declared in the first edition and the actual realization, that doesn’t vary much, in its artistic level and a range of showed works, from the other art reviews in Europe. Let’s remember, that the ambition of the first IBCA was to make the art from i.e. Eastern Europe, South America or Asia more respected.
