Summary/Abstract: Translation is the manner of providing the equivlent of a text. In this respect, dynamic equivalents are a matter of special interest in the field of official translation. Specialized texts (legal, economic, official) are highly standardized, technical, coded, stereotype, cliché, and idiomatic. The legal field uses the highest codified language and its decoding is seldom impossible, due to overall cultural differences, differences in the communication and the legal system it is employed for. The paper tackles these problem variables, employing certain examples in the area of CAP- European dirrectives and regulations- selectively, to illustrate the problems concerning the translaton of European terms from English into Romanian. These terms are either legal, economic (e.g. the concept of competition for CAP) or specialized (e.g. cross-compliance), alongside terms in the basic language of the CAP (agricultural, agrarian, rural). The outcome of this approach is to provide several preliminary translation and interpretation variants, as their understanding, interpretation and application within CAP is essential for stakeholders, institutions, farmers and the European citizen
