MODEST CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE LIFE AND WORK OF GENERAL GRIGORE CANTILLI

Summary/Abstract: The article brings to the attention of researchers a period in the career of General Grigore Cantilli, before he is known as a combatant in the War of Independence of Romania. It’s about that time period, less known, when he was part of the General Staff of Italian troops concentrated in the camp at Somma, between August 1863 – March 1866 or, according to other sources, 1865-1866. Therefore, we present two invitations of authorities and Italian individuals to Captain Grigore Cantilli, which are kept, in original, in the heritage of the Museum of National History and Archaeology Constanta.
