Summary/Abstract: The liturgical service of the Orthodox Church in Transylvania, at the end of XVIIth century, reflected into Euchologion (Book of needs) of Alba Iulia, 1689. Although the first Euchologion on Romanian territory have been printed in Targoviste (1540), very soon after first printed orthodox Eucologion (Venice, 1526), it was printed in Slavonic. (Those times Slavonic was the political and cultural language for Balkan area and quite al liturgical books were printed in that language.) For this reason only few Romanians could understand the liturgy. Not but that there were some tentative of translations into Romanian (Coresi, at the middle of XVI th century), because of bishops’ opposition the real orthodox Romanian printed liturgical books appeared only in XVII th century, under dominance of Calvinist leaders in Transylvania. The most representative translators /editors of liturgical books in Transylvania, for the second part of XVIIth century was Ioan Zoba from Vinţ who printed some important liturgical books (Sicriul de aur /Golden coffin/,1683 – a collection of sermons for funerals; Rânduiala Diaconstvelor/The book of St. John Liturgy, Vesper an Orthros, 1687; Ceasloveţ / Orologhion (Book of Hours), 1687. His most important liturgical book was Molităvnic / Euchologion, studied by this paper. Studying the Molităvnic of Zoba it is obviously the book do not following only one spring (despite he tell the translation have been done from Slavonic). In fact the book is a composite one; perhaps in his higher position of Transylvanian Orthodox Church (protonotary of The Synod) he collect some manuscript from priest. Content of liturgical text is following orthodox tradition but some of services are different by now used ones. The Euchologion of Zoba contributed in formatting liturgical Romanian language. The followed editions are related to it, even from XVIIIth century the Slavonic formula has been abandoned for Greek one (Euchologhion of Antim Ivireanu, Râmnic 1706).
