Summary/Abstract: We propose an analysis of social and moral relationships from a multi-ethnic and multi-confessional society in Transylvania at the age of second half of the 17th Century, according to a couple of Ioan Zoba’s books, an orthodox archpriest. Maybe the most important figure of theological Romanian culture in Transylvania at that time, the archpriest Ioan Zoba was preoccupied not only by liturgical aspects of the Orthodox Church life but also by moral aspects. On this matter he translated, via Hungarian translations, a well known English pietistic book: The shortcut to the good deeds, a short compendium of good moral practice. Furthermore, a look will be given into the collection of funeral sermons, Golden Coffin, of the same author, observing the aspects of social life at that time.
