The influence of tourism policy on tourist sector activity

Summary/Abstract: Tourism policy allows a state to interfere in tourism economy. State interference in the tourism economy is addressed to selected elements of tourism demand and supply, along with the impact of tourism sector on the national economy. The purpose of this paper is to present the state’s role in the tourism economy through the tasks associated with the impact on the tourism supply, especially tourist enterprises, which are an essential element of the structure of the modern tourist market. Special attention has been given to the tourism policy instruments affecting the tourism industry. Moreover the paper assesses selected records on tourism strategy documents, related to the performance of tourism enterprises.
