Summary/Abstract: 'The Albanian-Greek relationships before the Second World War have been cold in general, and tension between the two countries has manifested tilne and again. Nevertheless, in the years 1937-1939 the tension lowered significantly. Greece was worried by the Italian aggression against Albania, but on the other side, it f()lIowed the policy ofnon-opposition ofthis aggression, and strove to avoid the nlilitary action of Italy agains it. 'fhe ItaIian occupiers during the preparatory stage ofthe attack against (Jreece strove to exploit the discontent of the AIbanians towards the Greek policy. and, in a special Inanner, the accunlulated discontent ofthe ran1 elnigrants in Albania \vhich was result of the repressive and denationalising policy which had followed the Greek state towards the Albanian nlinority in Cjreece. 'rhey achieved sonle results, but they were very limited. The Albanians in general refused to support the Italian expansionist policy towards the southern neighbors.
