DIFFERENCES OF VERB FORMS IN TWO GRAMMARS OF KOSTAQ CIPO IN 1949

Summary/Abstract: From the study of different verb forms in grammars of Albanian language from Albanian authors and in various normative works, we think that the grammar of Kostaq Cipo published by the Institute of Sciences together with his grammar for 7grade schools (both published in 1949) has served as initial points for the postwar grammars in the path of crystallization and stabilization of literary grammar norm in general and especially the norm of verb system. In the foreword of Gramatika shkencore/Scientific Grammar the author claims that “We have yet a lot of work to do – we have to know the mechanism of language through grammar, to acquire good the vocabulary, to read and learn parts written beautifully”. However, the influence of both his grammars is obvious in entire subsequent grammars, making them this way a marking stone in the path of intentional codifying work in the field of morphology.
