Summary/Abstract: In this article I discuss the problem whether the theory of intelligent design can claim to be an independent theory or could instead be integrated within evolutionalism. The American philosopher Nicholas Rescher suggests the latter possibility. In my opinion there are no arguable conceptual reasons confirming such a claim.
