Summary/Abstract: Stephen L. Talbott is a researcher at the private Nature Institute in Ghent, New York, which develops integrative ideas in biology and related disciplines, based on the works of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and other scientists and thinkers. The paper discusses Talbott’s work, because, for a number of years, he has expressed a negative stance on the theory of intelligent design (ID). This scientist-biologist clearly sets his views apart from the views of ID theorists, and to some extent, even pro forma, from the opinions of conventional biologists who advocate neo-Darwinism.
