Summary/Abstract: In the following paper the author describes secundary functions of simple dative in Ancient Greek and its reflexes in Latin and Old Russian. The Latin equivalent of Greek dative in the function of locative expressing place or time is the ablative (besides some relics of locative). In Old Russian this function is expressed by the istrumental case (or by simple locative of proper names). The equivalent of the Greek dative in the function of instrumental case in Latin is the ablative, in Old Russian the instrumental case.
