Summary/Abstract: In this article, on the basis of archival research, the author investigates the biography of Giuseppe Vassilich (b. Krk, 1852 – d. Trieste, 1940.). Vassilich was educated in Krk, Split and Trieste. He served as an assistant teacher in Labin and as a teacher in Trieste, that is, as a long-serving director of several primary schools in Trieste. He became prominent as the author of many articles about the history of Istria and the islands of the Kvarner in Italian history journals of the time. He also wrote a number of articles about the princes of Krk. As a whole, on about 360 pages, he wrote a synthesis of the history of the Islands of Kvarner from the migrations of the Slavs to 1480, he researched the noble Frankopan family, the origins of the Vlach population of Istria and other historiographical questions, but his works can not be considered of lasting value. He also wrote a novel about Elizabeth Frankopan and some literary articles.
