Summary/Abstract: The procedure used to evaluate and identify Braille reading disabilities involved two essential components: a three-task set, meant to help us identify the symptoms, and a fourth task for evaluating the reading technique by using a standard observation chart. Based on the results of this research three personalized programmes were proposed: a) to facilitate the development of tactile-kinaesthetic abilities starting from pre-school age; b) to speed up the development of the two-handed Braille reading technique; c) to solve phonological deficit problems by encouraging the development of phonological awareness.
