The Printing Activity from Bălgrad between the Challenges of the Protestant Reform and those of the Counter-Reformation

Summary/Abstract: The author points out the cultural consequences of the dialogue between the Transylvanian orthodoxy and the Western Church, as reflected in the Romanian printing activity from the second half of the 17th century. These cultural consequences are: the heuristic form of the teaching texts (catechisms, sermons, moralising literature), a new rhetoric structure of the homiletic, the spreading out of the congregational song, the distribution of the biblical texts into chapters and verses.
