Summary/Abstract: The paper aims at presenting some of the directions in which the Gallic movement within the Catholic Church, echoed in the culture of the Transylvanians in the 18th century. It is evident that the European model was applied within the Greek Catholic-Church from Transylvania in a double perspective. On the one hand the reception of the Gallic ideas was facilitated by the development of the national movement of the Transylvanians, the Greek Catholic-Church, as an institution of the Transylvanians, being the result of this movement. On the other hand it is underlined that the reception of the Gallic ideas was facilitated even by the need to argue the independence of the united church both in front of the state institutions, but, especially, in front of the authority of the Roman-Catholic Church from Transylvania.
