Summary/Abstract: Only 400 km southwards from Sofi a a piece of Eden stands – not only for the Bulgarians, but also for all other Orthodox nations. The Holy Mount Athos! In the shadows of the monasteries’ walls there are sheltered the innermost secrets and evidences of the past glory. Bulgarian monastery “St. George Zograf” has been a silent witness of many upsurges and downfalls. In a narrative form the author introduces the reader into the unexpected meetings with documents about little known Bulgarians, found during his pilgrimage to Mount Athos.
