Summary/Abstract: The fate of Dimitar and Constantin Miladinovi is similar to the fate of the Bulgarian teacher during the Renaissance – wandering from town to town, forced outages, prosecutions. Their life and work is colorful and versatile. Covers “prosvetitelstvo” and literary work, folk and spiritual enlightenment “buditelstvo”, rich epistolary art, which unfortunately for the most part “sinks” and is irretrievably lost in Turkish dungeons, confiscated during their arrest, which led to their martyrdom. Emblematically, in 1961, right when celebrating 100 years of their heroic deaths, seven letters were found in the archives of the monastery Zograph by Cyril, patriarch of Bulgaria, which were published in “Spiritual Culture”, 1963, vol. 11–12, p. 10–30. This fact opens a new insufficiently researched page of the life of Miladinovi brothers – and of their epistolary spiritual connection with Athos monasteries.
