Summary/Abstract: The article tries to analyse the general opinion of teachers toward the pupil's studying load from the training aspect. The research results (2001) show that the majority of teachers (84,9%) working at different types of school think that pupils in Lithuania are overloaded with their studies. Teachers who took part in this research, pointed out the load of students is conditioned by the syllabus content of the subjects: the opinion, that only in this way it is possible to get ready for the school leaving examinations (34,2%), the opinion, that it is necessary to learn everything what is in the syllabus (35%), also not paying attention to the similar subjects (11%) and the fact that there is no alternative syllabus (12,3%). 24,7% of the teachers pointed out, that the syllabus content of the subject does not influence the pupil's training load, as the teacher can choose what to teach.
