Summary/Abstract: One of the best known parts of the Alba Iulia (Gyulafehérvár) cathedral is the so-called Lászai chapel. It is historically important and also from an architectural point of view. Th e article presents János Lászai, a Catholic priest, canon, who fi nanced the construction for the chapel at the Nothern entrance to the cathedral in the 16th century.
