Summary/Abstract: This paper aims at the issue of interpersonal interactions in health care settings. The focus is on the communicative implications of the most prevalent gender patterns between doctors and patients at the doctor’s surgery online and offline. The linking of the female role to the patient is highlighted together with the professional expectations from doctors within the framework of social and cultural values.
