THE TRIALS OF THE SOUL

Summary/Abstract: There is a big collection of paintings in the south part of the church in the Rila monastery. The name of the complex is called Soil's suffering. The number of these frescoes is 20. I uncovered a book in the library of Rila monastery. The book is copyed in 1759 in a Russian monastery. There is a text, I Think it was used by the painter to make his complex Soil's suffering. The name of the text is the Vita of St. Vasil the New. This text belongs to Russian redaction. The comparision of the Vita of St. Vasil the New and the notes of the freskoes proves that there are differenses in their structure, but there is no difference in the content. The main purpose of the report is to present some of special feature in the Bulgarian language of the frescoes.
