Summary/Abstract: The teaching that the person and work of Christ is inseparably united with the person and work of the Holy Spirit was initially present in the life of the Church. This teaching, handed down from Christ, through the Holy Apostles, the Apostolic Fathers and the Church Fathers until today has been explained in depth and thoroughly explored. Both the connection and the distinction between Christ and the Holy Spirit in the internal life of the Trinity and its saving oikonomia as well has been strictly maintained. Thus, both the identity and inner union of the two Persons in their distinct relationships with the Person of the Father have been highlighted. The begetting of the Son before the ages from the Father was seen as the anointing of the Son by the Father. As Possessor of the Holy Spirit, the Son offers the Holy Spirit to His human nature and, through it, to the whole of humanity.
