Summary/Abstract: The text presents a study on the Turks, resettlers from Bulgaria in the region of Bursa, mainly in the perspective of the identity markers and in the context of the contemporary social situation. The author seeks the locations of „fatherland“ as one of identity makers – a concept which in the case of resettlers problematizes the categories of „own“ and „foreign“ in their conceptual frameworks. „The fatherland“ imagined by the resettlers in Bursa is positioned in three different projections (illustrated in the text by three biographical stories) and it has two dimensions, as in different situations one of them prevails in constructing (and transforming) personal identities.
