Summary/Abstract: The study addresses the issue of movable cultural heritage protection in Romania. To this end, a brief scrutiny of Law No. 182/2000 on protection of movable cultural heritage is provided. Law No. 182/2000 (re-issued in 2008) constitutes the key-law relative to fundamental aspects, procedures and methodology, set-up of new or grant of additional powers to extant entities, and provides a comprehensive array of punishments for legal non-observance.
