Assessment of local and regional development in Poland. Financial aspect

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to assess the funding of the local and regional development in Poland. The local and regional development is presented as a process of the effective use of available financial resources, human and natural, to create jobs and achieve favourable social standards. The assessment was based on historical, institutional and financial analysis. The historical analysis allowed to investigate key periods in the financing evolution of the local and regional development. The institutional analysis served to identify the entities responsible for this development. However, the financial conditions of these entities became the basis for evaluation of the local and regional development in the financial aspect.
