Summary/Abstract: This article discusses factors that determine socio-economic development in Poland. The discussion is held in a wide neopluralistic analytical perspective, which can be regarded as an effective tool for conceptualizing further research in this problem area. It seems viable to claim that the polarization and diffusion model in managing the socio-economic development of Polish regions will mostly bring benefits to the largest Polish urban agglomerations - in the wake of the polarization processes involved. A potential successful implementation of that model will depend on the rate and effectiveness of the diffusion processes.
