What can the "uninominal vote" bring

Summary/Abstract: The study presents possible effects of reforming the Romanian electoral system, by drawing the design of the parliamentary force equilibrium as resulted from the application of the majoritarian electoral system (plurality elections). The authors are thus making a simulation of the parliamentary mandates distribution using the „single-member constituency” instrument („nominal vote”). The present study does not intend to be a prediction, nor does it have any political relevance. The demarche is a purely technical one and it has as the purpose to underline those effects which electoral mechanisms have over the party system and the overall political system.
