{Według} – a troublesome preposition

Summary/Abstract: The paper is an attempt at determining the number of language units behind the preposition {według}. The study compares the results of semantic research focused on lexemes containing the string {według} with relevant lexicographical definitions found in selected dictionaries of contemporary Polish. Moreover, the paper presents possible ways of resolving problems with determining language units containing the expression in question and with providing definitions for them. The paper also discusses whether and to what degree the results of modern semantic studies are taken into consideration in lexicographic descriptions.
