Summary/Abstract: The social entrepreneur is an entrepreneur whose aim is to create positive social changes rather than the “mere” profit. A social entrepreneur is a person who recognizes a social problem and uses entrepreneurial principles to organize, create and manage a company or organization in order to cope with social changes. While a business entrepreneur usually measures his performance in the yield he obtains, a social entrepreneur assesses his success through the impact it has on the society. The social entrepreneurs often operate through nonprofit organizations and citizen groups, but many of them work in the private sector and in the governmental one. Entrepreneurs are managers who have a vision. The entrepreneurial process is creating a new value through which the entrepreneur identifies new opportunities to attract the necessary resources in order to implement these opportunities and creates an organization to manage these resources. Social entrepreneurs have all around the world as supreme values the creating, supporting and promoting opportunities for all the human beings in order to achieve their life potential in ways that bring personal satisfaction, but which are desirable in terms of moral and social action. For those involved in achieving these values, the main concern is related to the personal and collective welfare, but not at the expense of one another.
