Summary/Abstract: Throughout the XVII-th century a series of scientific discoveries, as well as some importance intellectual works, allowed the establishment of a new discourse meant to justify itself exclusively on the faith in natural laws, on the excessive confidence in the innovative power of the human reason, or on the observation of the universal order. A predominantly rational approach on all aspects of the religious life was noticed on this background, but this was extended also to the religious life due to a secularized orientation towards the world and life, motivated by a presupposed need of the human progress based only on reason.
