Church and Welfare State in Europe. The frame for a sustainable parnership

Summary/Abstract: The pursuit of social welfare through social work is a process that involves not only the governments but other partners too. We know that social policies are mainly national states concern and these policies differ from one state to another. European Union tries to provide the basic principles to build not only a political or economical Europe but also a Social Europe. The paper will offer an insight into the legislative framework of European Union in this matter, underlying the partnership between church and state.
