Summary/Abstract: In the 1st Century BC and 1st Century AD, in the South-West Transylvania a spectacular power centre develops. Around the religious and political capital, Sarmizegetusa Regia, a series of fortifications is built up to block the main access paths, and near fortifications, there are temples. The cult constructions are topographically and visually connected to the fortresses; the two areas are linked, and the architectural forms found here create a monumental aspect. On the other hand, the building of the monuments described above required a constructive and economically singular effort and it can be understood only in the context of the resources found in the religious, political and economic centre of Dacian kingdom.
