Summary/Abstract: Pedagogical science starts from Man and each human being’s benefit during his/her entire existence. Each man is a unique individual, still in continuous interaction with the society he lives in. This paper deals with confronting the informatic and technological trend more and more increasing in all the segments of our quotidianity, including upbringing and education as well. However, the question is to what extent such a trend supports and maintains humanistic objective of learning society, i.e. knowledge society as a goal all the contemporary societies aim at. Rapid and intensive development of IC technologies may bring numerous benefits, yet they still represent a peak of an iceberg if considered in the context of Man as a complete being, particularly from the view of his/her social and emotional development, progress and life in general. This paper contemplates over learning society approach and its crucial theses as well as ICT importance but taking into consideration its pros and cons, referring in particular to anthropo- and ecological well-being at which learning society should be aimed, as well as to a modern man emotionally and socially suppressed in turbulent ever changing world. Furthermore, it considers whether and how ICT both bring people closer and ICT estrange not only people but also a man from his inner being. It seems that homonisation leaves no room for humanisation. However, I should emphasise it here, the time is the best witness and the time will show the final outcome.
