Summary/Abstract: The Hungarian teaching offensive ended after the Great Unification in Alba Iulia in 1 December 1918. Although, it followed a period in which the Romanian authorities retrieved progressivelly institutions from Sighetu Marmatiei, among them there were also buildings in which the teaching in Hungary functioned. The taking over of these locations in which the Romanian teaching will be conducted, started in July 1919, so in the fall of 1919 were opened in Sighetu Marmaţíei three Romanian highschools, respectively, the Girls Highschool „Domniţa Ileana”, The Boys Highschool „Dragoș Vodă” and the „Normal school for boys King Ferdinand”.
