Summary/Abstract: In 1919, King Ferdinand and Queen Mary visited for the first time Transylvania, where they entered in contact with the first Maramures county people.After two years, Ferdinand visited the capital of Maramures county, Sighetu Marmatiei, where he got in touch with Dimitrie Simion, the headmaster of the Boys Regular School in Sighet. Since than, the school is called “The Regular School for Schoolmasters, King Ferdinand".In Ferdinand's honour, the school staff raised at the institution's entrance a bronze bust of the sovereign, which the bishop of Cluj, Nicolae Ivan sanctified in 30 September 1927.
