Dramatic time structure in the comedy El baul de los disfraces by Jaime Salom and its possible source of inspiration

Summary/Abstract: The subject of the present paper is an analysis of the dramatic time structure in the comedy El baúl de los disfraces by Jaime Salom. There are three time levels in the play: the current real time, the real time of the past events and the unreal time where these levels intermingle. The chronological order of the plot world differs from that of the past events occurring at the scenic time. The technique employed by the author exhibits substantial parallels with a work entitled L’Inconnue d’Arras by a French playwright Armand Salacrou.
