Summary/Abstract: Francisco Nieva, a dramatist who makes his debut during Francoism, defies and contests in his works a variety of bans of political, social, and religious character. The transgression of various taboos of decency, modesty, and sensitivity is a recurring motif in his plays. This article examines the ways in which the transgressive character of Nieva’s works is expressed, and the forms of its manifestations. The analysis is focused on the texts the playwright himself classifies as“Teatro furioso.” This study focuses on different elements of the dramatic structure of the plays, such as: personae, spatial and temporal relations (setting,) action, situation, and the language of the dramas.
