The functioning of the balanced scorecard in the city of Tarnów

Summary/Abstract: The experience of the last 20 years shows that the right tool for the measurement and implementation of the strategy can be the Balanced Scorecard. In Poland the Balanced Scorecard is used in private sector and also in public sector, for example in the city of Tarnów, Mazowieckie voivodship Marshal’s Office or in Custom Service in Warsaw. The main objective of this paper is to present the essence of the Balanced Scorecard in accordance with the requirements of the public sector and to discuss the functioning of the Balanced Scorecard in the city of Tarnów after implementing the Program “Tarnów 2015”.
