Summary/Abstract: The highly-specialised article presents an innovative project in the field of cross-border cooperation. The author - and, at the same time, one of the main initiators of the project - explains the significance and the objectives of such a partenership, its basic structure and motivation. The authorities involved are clearly specified, as well as the functioning principles of such contracts within the DKMT Euroregion.The second page of the article presents up-to-date attitudes and factual data regarding cross-border cooperation. It outlines concrete actions and initiatives taken in the context of the DKMT Euroregion Protocol, suggesting further lines of action and establishing a set of validity-criteria to such projects in the future. The text draws upon and belongs to a larger research carried out by the Observatory for Regional and Euroregional Policies, subdivision of The Third Europe Foundation, Timisoara.
