Summary/Abstract: This paper focuses on health and psychological well-being of young Bulgarian adolescents – aged 11 to 15, part of the first Bulgarian “Health Behaviour in School-aged Children – HBSC” study. Logistic regression models were used to analyse the impact of psychological, social and economic factors. The results show that family socio-economic status and social support have significant independent impacts on students’ health and subjective well-being. Bulgarian adolescents have more health and psychological complaints and are much more unsatisfied with their life compared to peers coming from Central and Eastern European countries (the former socialist countries).
