Summary/Abstract: The Stroop Color and Word test is a method for evaluating interference, a measure of effective executive control as part of the executive functions, and one of the neuropsychological methods for detecting early brain dysfunction. A normative study with two Bulgarian versions of this widely used in clinical and cognitive psychology test is presented here. 124 healthy subjects coming from 5 age groups were administered the first Bulgarian version and yet 101 subjects from the same 5 age groups were administered the second. Analyses confirm age significance for different test indicators in both versions and test order presentation. The second Bulgarian version is more sensitive to age differences and does not show changes in test indicators in alternating order presentation. Initial normative data for both versions is presented.
