Summary/Abstract: The article outlines the historical background of the Latin personal name Adauctus and its Czech equivalents Sbožný, Přibík and Přibyslav. The name Adauctus (or Adaukt) is not used in Czech; the only known exception is represented by the name of the 18th century scientist Mikuláš Adaukt Voigt.
