From History of Language Culture in Belarus

Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with specific problems of Belarusian language culture. It is based on the unique official style, Renaissance and Barocco translations of the Bible (by F. Skaryna, V. Ciapinski), medieval grammars and rhetoric. Modern Belarusian orthology has its roots in the folklore, common periodic publications style, creative use of the language and normalizing activity of Belarusian writers. National scholars deepen the theory of orthology in the sphere of language norms, problems of terminology, stylistic differentiation, Russian language interference, national concept of lexicography.
