Summary/Abstract: Problems arising from the merger of professional and parental roles have always been important. However, in modern times, often characterized by lack of jobs, they become more severe, especially for those population groups that have a weaker position on the labor market, and such is a group of families with children, especially mothers. Modern solutions concerning the labor market and family, let the burden of having children be taken by both parents. The article is based on numerous studies conducted by CBOS and CSO and is an attempt to familiarize the negative effects of lack of appropriate links between professional and parental roles, and methods for their mitigation. The article shows that eliminating tensions between these roles requires a lot of changes on the labor market, and the changing attitude of employers and workers and it must be a flexible and continuous process.
