Summary/Abstract: Italian literature and figurative arts: about the description in the Italia liberata dai Goti by Giangiorgio Trissino. There are various types of descriptions in this famous poem by Trissino, an important poet of the Italian Renaissance, but we have focused only on those that appear to have made a figurative as reference. We investigated whether the ekphrasis is for Trissino a topic or a literary tool for the visual. Our research takes into consideration above all “encounters” between poetry and art treaties of the Italian Renaissance. We have tried not to exclude either “encounters” between poetry and extra-literary artistic reality.
