Public finance in Poland vs. support for agriculture

Summary/Abstract: In the discussions on reforming public finance in Poland the agriculture is constantly being evoked. The problem of Agricultural Social Insurance Fund (KRUS) and the implementation of income tax in agriculture are repeatedly mentioned. Similarly in the budgetary debate in the EU the problem of the scale of supports towards agriculture keeps appearing on the agenda. The current crisis strengthened the sides demanding the reduction in the extent of support offered to this sector. In this context it is important to present the scale of support directed to the Polish agriculture and to assess its potential level in the near future taking into account the state of public finance in Poland and planned changes in the EU CAP.
