Neologisms as a subject of linguistic description (notes in the margins of Polnisch-deutsches Wörterbuch der Neologisme)

Summary/Abstract: The article presents Polish-German dictionary of neologisms (Polnisch -deutsches Wörterbuch der Neo logismen) as a lexicographic study containing new vocabulary of the last twenty years (about 3500 entries). The author presents the main idea of the book and the way of description of all types of new words – borrowings, neosemantisms, phraseologisms – the used sources, grammatical and semantic structure of the entries, the illustrating examples. Special attention was paid to derivative neologisms as a base for a further research. The author appraised highly the criteria of their selection, their representative nature, the usefulness of the contexts. She criticised some decisions concerning chronology of the entries.
