Homonymy and Homonyms in Lexicographical Description - Theory and Practice

Summary/Abstract: The present paper is devoted to the ways of actualizing the description of homonyms in a would-be, fully professional descriptive dictionary. The aimed description has to take into account the newest issues in semantics and word formation. Therefore, it shall verify the previous statements classifying lexical items as respectively polysemous and homonymous. The data collected in the {Word Formation Nests' Dictionary of Contemporary General Polish}, vol. I-IV, may prove particularly pertinent. They shall enable linguists to determine precisely the field of the word formation homonymy and detect homonyms which appear as a result of a deterioration of polysemous structures.
